Grant Application Process

Please take moment to review the guidelines and make sure your organization is eligible for a grant before submitting an application.

Organizations who are seeking for funding must complete the grant application form and provide the following information:

	Letter of tax-exempt status under the 501c(3) of the IRS Code;
	Federal tax identification number if different from the 501c(3);
	Cover letter, including the mission of the organization, total amount requested and purpose of the funds;
	Description of the organization with a brief history, specific programs offered and program objectives, significant highlights of the organization, number of people and geographic areas served, staff list and job titles, and years in operation.
	Operating budget for the past two years;
	List of corporate and foundation contributors and amounts contributed;
	Identify if organization is a CDFI or a CDC;
	Governance information;
	List of officers and Board of Directors;
	Marketing/Communications materials such as Annual Report (if available) or brochures describing programs and services;
	Itemized project costs related to the program;
	Information about the method in which the contribution will be used; and
	Audited financial statements. (minimum 2 years)


To submit an application, please send your completed grant application form accompanied by all necessary supporting documents to: Cathay Bank Foundation 9650 Flair Drive El Monte, CA 91731 foundation@cathaybank.com Letters of Intent (LOIs) are accepted on a quarterly basis. Deadlines are March 1 and August 1. LOIs should include the following information:
	Name of organization
	Mission Statement
	Amount of grant request
	Name of project or type of program support
	Use of grant proceeds
	Geographical location(s) served
	Target market served (e.g. LMI population, children, youth, seniors and immigrants)
Proposals are accepted on a quarterly basis.Application deadlines are March 1 and August 1. Please provide proposals in tri-plicate or 3 copies. Incomplete packages may cause considerable delay of funding and in some instances suspension. Thank you. Requests for capital campaigns will be received by the Foundation and directed to a department of Cathay Bank for consideration. Organizations are limited to grant funding to once in a calendar year.
